An update on progress from Christians Against Poverty regarding our service during COVID 19

Debt help

In view of the current situation, we are not able to see clients face to face and so we are reviewing all our processes to offer a telephone based debt help service. As you are aware we are a regulated industry so there has been a delay in opening up our temporary revised service.

For clients who have already had their first visit we are currently completing their subsequent visits over the phone (or video conferencing)

Our helpline, 0800 328 0006, remains open for those who call and we are currently signposting callers to telephone based debt help.  We are aiming to be re-open this New Enquiries line for new client appointments in the first 2 weeks of May.

Our Debt Centres in Bristol North West, Bristol North East and Bristol South are still supporting their existing clients, both with their debt journey, but also more pressing matters such as food, utilities and toiletries

Group Services

We also have a Life Skills Group in Hartcliffe (who are supporting members on a low income), and Fresh Start in Cadbury Heath (Providing support for members with dependencies such as smoking, drinking and overeating).

All our Group Services, and CAP Money (our budgeting course) have needed to stop seeing delegates in a small group support setting.  Please pray for the delegates in Cadbury Heath who needed to stop a course mid way through, and both of these Centres as they support both current and previous members during this difficult time.

If you have any questions please contact me, Sian Hearsey, on 07449 130439 or email sianhearsey@capuk.org.

Thank you so much for all the care and interest many have shown in supporting our clients during this time.  Please can you pray for our Debt Centres, Group Services, CAP Money, and all their clients and members around the Country
