Trafficking & Vulnerable Women

1 in 3 women will experience some form of abuse in their lifetime, whether that’s in the home, at work, on the streets, in a brothel or church. Too many are living the reality of day to day harm - whether that’s being trafficked into the city, or working on the streets or in exploitative situations in massage parlours and brothels.

10.5% of 180 adverts on a popular adult site showed a clear indicator that a woman might be the victim of trafficking and over 75% of 65 premises where sex is being sold display links to organised crime.

How you or your church can help

There are many organisations in the city working together to make a difference to the lives of hundreds of women. By working together, we can do more than apart. If you would like to get involved through prayer, volunteering or fundraising, please get in touch. Contacts are detailed below.

You can make a difference by listening to those around you - your friends, colleagues, or the woman who you see in the street. By opening our eyes, understanding the signs of exploitation and abuse, and knowing where to get help, we can enable women to take a first step towards safety and freedom.
