This year, the Young Christian Climate Network is walking over 1,000 miles from the G7 summit in Cornwall up to COP26 climate talks in Glasgow. The pilgrimage will stop in Bristol from 12 - 17 July.

All are welcome to join events throughout the week to pray, reflect and act on the climate crisis.


Throughout the week MON 12TH JULY - SAT 17TH JULY: Morning prayer on Zoom

MONDAY 12TH JULY

  • Walkers arrive into Bristol (time tbc)

  • 4-4:30pm: Welcome and prayer on College Green,BS1 5TJ.Join us to welcome the relay into Bristol as the Cornish and Welsh walkers converge in our city.

  • 5-6pm: Welcome gathering at St Paul’s Clifton, BS8 1LP. A great opportunity to greet the relay as we welcome the boat and to be engaged and inspired by the call to pray, reflect and act.


TUESDAY 13TH JULY

  • 1-3pm: Gardening and prayer at Hazelnut Community Farm, BS7 0PQ. Join us for an afternoon of working together on the Horfield site, a creative activity, and evening prayer.

  • 6-7:30pm: Jubilee Debt Campaign webinar. Debt and the climate crisis: a perfect storm. Join us to listen to experts from affected communities in the global South discuss why debt cancellation is essential if we’re to tackle the climate crisis. WEDNESDAY 14TH JULY

  • 5-6:30pm - Eco-focused Eucharist at Cotham Parish Church, BS6 6DR. Breaking bread together is a powerful symbol of the promise of a world renewed. Come and share the meal that makes us more hungry for justice.


THURSDAY 15TH JULY

  • 12noon-3pm. Prayer pilgrimage around the harbourside from St Nicholas’ Church, BS1 1UE. Using the iconic and historic sites of Bristol’s harbourside as our focus we will journey prayerfully together asking to see the city and the world through the eyes of Jesus.

  • 3-5pm. YCCN Relay Bristol Celebration on College Green, BS1 5TJ
    Christians from across the Bristol region are invited to join us as we unite with one voice of faith to speak into the most significant challenge facing our world, and stand alongside the younger generation who will bear the brunt of its impact.

    We will pray and worship together, as a public witness of our faith. We will hear from inspiring leaders paving the way for greater climate action. And we will bear witness to our Christian calling to love our neighbours and protect God’s creation.

    Join us as we unite with one voice of faith to speak into the most significant challenge facing our world, and stand alongside the younger generation who will bear the brunt of its impact. Speakers will include Marvin Rees, Mayor of Bristol and Rt Revd Vivienne Faull, Bishop of Bristol, along with music from soulful singer-songwriter Sam Lindo.

  • 5:15-5:45pm - Prayer service at Bristol Cathedral, BS1 5TJ. Following the celebration on college green, Bristol Cathedral welcomes you to join a short evening service.


FRIDAY 16TH JULY

  • 4-6pm - Garden Party at St Matthews Kingsdown, BS6 5TB. A great chance to conclude the Bristol residency relaxing together int he St Matt’s eco-garden – food, music and good company.



SATURDAY 17TH JULY

  • Walkers depart Bristol (time TBC)
